Overview

Mountain Afadjato is located in the Hohoe District,  precisely south-east of the town of Hohoe and it also forms part of the Akwapim-Togo Range. Mountani Afadjato which is 885 meters tall is covered with luxuriant tropical forests and a bit of savanna vegetation around the mountain top which are the main natural attractions.

"Afadjato" which in the Ewe dialect means mountain is believed to be the highest mountain in Ghana with lots of exciting natural views. It is  one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Volta Region of Ghana welcoming thousands of visitors from around the globe annually.

On a clear day, Afadjato offers a scenic view of the Akwapim-Togo ranges, the surrounding towns, the Tagbo Falls and parts of the Volta lake. Make yourself proud by coming to conquer the highest mountain in Ghana.

Precaution

Looking at the height of the mountain, it is not easy to climb as it is steep at some points but that shouldn't scare you, it is rather fun with the help of our tour guides. That notwithstanding, you must have a well fitting pair of shoe in good condition and a walking stick to support. For the very fit, there is a possibility to hike a little further to the next mountain right behind Afadjato called Aduadu.
